About the game and site

A tiny errand with a memorable shadow

Who made Petal?

Petal was created by 13-23 and released as an HTML5 game on itch.io on July 12, 2026. The official listing identifies Godot and Blender as its production tools. It presents a short adventure in which Ana leaves home to buy fertilizer and discovers that something is wrong inside the flower shop.

The creator’s production note is as unusual as the game. According to the official page, a physical keyboard broke while Petal was still in development. 13-23 simplified the project and finished it using a mouse and the Windows on-screen keyboard. The release was also intended to help raise funds for a replacement keyboard and future Steam publishing costs.

What is Petal Horror?

Petal Horror is an independent editorial and play portal atpetalhorror.com. It is not the developer, publisher, or official support channel. The site exists because the word “Petal” overlaps with several unrelated games, while people searching for the new horror title commonly want the browser build, controls, session length, languages, or update history.

Our pages prioritize the creator’s itch.io listing, official development logs, the official teaser, and direct observation of the current browser build. Facts that are not supported by those sources are omitted. Community videos can be useful for discovery, but their titles and interpretations are not treated as canonical story evidence.

How are images and game assets handled?

The cover and screenshots shown here are official Petal images published by 13-23 on itch.io. They are used to identify and discuss the game, with ownership credited to the creator. A machine-readable media attribution record is kept in the site project. The playable HTML5 package is hosted with permission from the rights holder. No generated replacement art is used.

Where should you support or contact the creator?
